KWF-Tagung 2016 concludes successfully

Increases in the numbers of exhibitors and visitors as well as in the sales area   The 17th KWF-Tagung ended on June 12. Around 51,000 visitors came to the trade fair grounds in Roding over four days. 551 exhibitors from 24 countries confirmed the reputation of the KWF-Tagung as the world’s largest event for forestry technology this year. The size of the sales area, approximately 77,000 square meters, set a new record. On their sometimes very elaborate and impressive booths, the exhibitors offered many innovations and new products from all areas of forest technology. The specialist excursion received an excellent response, with about 7000 participants. The specialist meeting – which lasted several days for the first time – was also well received. The 18th KWF-Tagung will take place in June 2020.

Bavarian Minister of State Brunner attended the KWF-Tagung again on the last day of the trade fair. Afterwards, he congratulated everyone who participated in the event: “Roding has set a course that will be the trend for forestry in Germany for a long time,” said Brunner.

The organizer, the Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik e.V. (KWF; German Center for Forestry Work and Forestry Technology) was also very satisfied: “The 17th KWF-Tagung was a great success for us!”, concluded Managing Director Prof. Ute Seeling. “We set ourselves ambitious goals and achieved them all. The concept has paid off,” continued Seeling. Above all, the high number of visitors on the first day was surprising. The problems of transport logistics that day were solved, together with regional partners, that night. They were no longer an issue for the other days, even though the influx of visitors did not let up.

Seeling also highlighted the close involvement of the partner country, the Czech Republic. Many visitors and policymakers made their way to Roding. There were important professional discussions. The great international interest in the KWF-Tagung was confirmed by more than 25 additional delegations, some of them with high-ranking officials: “We were able to welcome guests from other European countries, but also from places such as Japan, Brazil, Russia and China,” said Seeling.

The speaker of the KWF company advisory board, Ralf Dreeke, praised the Roding location: “The infrastructure of the trade fair grounds was almost perfect for us exhibitors. The setup went smoothly, and I expect the same for the takedown. Although we can hardly imagine a better site, we still want a new location to be selected for each KWF-Tagung”.

The next KWF-Tagung will take place in June 2020. The host state in Germany will be decided by the KWF board at the end of this year. The decision on the precise location will be announced in 2018.
