The Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik
The Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik e.V. (KWF) is a registered, non-profit association with a membership of over 2000.
The KWF is the competency centre for forest work, forest technology and wood logistics in Germany and Europe. The association informs and advises all actors from the forestry, wood and bio-energy sectors and provides a consultation service to all. The KWF focuses on the important tasks of safeguarding the future, accident prevention and environmental care on a national basis and for the common good. Thus the KWF stands out as an example for a joint, rational and future-oriented institution based on a division of labour and set up for the purpose of finding solutions for federal and state governments.
The KWF is the only national organisation that tests and provides certification for forest technology, forest equipment and personal safety equipment. The KWF issues the sought-after KWF-Utility Test awards "KWF-Profi" and "KWF-Standard" as well as the KWF-Test mark, the DPLF- and GS-marks.
The KWF also mediates across the sectors between research, practice and industry in the forestry, wood and bio-energy sectors. In addition to this, the organisation is also available as a project partner in these sectors.
The KWF organises the KWF- Tagung, one of the largest forestry trade fairs in the world. The event includes a congress, field trips and the KWF Expo (forestry machine and innovations show). In addition to this, the KWF also organises special shows on current topics from forestry and the wood sector for numerous international professional events such as Interforst, Ligna and many more.
At the main office in Gross-Umstadt, the KWF hosts regular professional meetings, seminars, workshops and expert discussions on topical issues in practical forestry.
