Demonstration safety - instructions for exhibitors and presenters at the 15th KWF-Meeting
The following code of practice ensures the safety of visitors, personnell and other participants especially during live machine demonstrations at the 15th KWF-Meeting from June 4 - 7, 2008 in Schmallenberg.
Barriers
All machine demonstration areas (danger zones) must be cordoned off to ensure the safety of the spectators. Exhibitors must ensure that no person may enter the danger zone during a live demonstration. Close-range viewing of the machine is only permissible when engines have been turned off. The KWF safety team is available to help you with setting up barriers.
Helmets
Demonstrations where the danger of head injuries cannot be completely ruled out are only permitted if all visitors are provided with a helmet. The helmet is also the "entry ticket" for excursion participation and may be bought at the marked stands. All exhibitors and demonstrators must wear a helmet where required.
Fire extinguishers
Each exhibitor or demonstrator, working with machines powered by internal combustion engines at the Forest machinery and Innovations Show or during the excursions must provide the required number of fire extinguishers. These may be rented during the show. For more information please contact the show organisation office.
Oil binding substances
Each exhibitor or demonstrator, working with machines powered by internal combustion engines at the Forest machinery and Innovations Show or during the excursions must have access to an adequate supply of oil binding substances. In case of need, these substances may be purchased at the show. For more information please contact the show organisation office.
Inspection of stands and excursion pictures and controls
The KWF safety team will carry out accident prevention inspections of the stands, especially the barriers. The stand owner must verify the inspection mby signature. Safety controls will take place continually during the show and the excursions. Demonstrations that do not comply with the safety standards will be stopped immediatly.
